I'm signed up for The Heakte Tarot also, I found the 1st lesson interesting. I can't wait to learn more about it.
You're very welcome, Rev Vivian Dewey. :-) I'm glad I could help. I hope you enjoy the course. I took it when there was only a course for the Major Arcana and was thrilled when Rev Don was finally able to put up a course for the full deck. I think it will become my primary deck once I get it. I hope to purchase it in time for Samhain readings.
Thank you Deb Ellair. I enjoyed and learned from your explanation.
The way I see it, is that the Jester is pure, natural energy just like the Horned God, but the Jester presents as being mild in temperament, more playful and easy going in his expression of energy. The Horned God is also pure, natural energy, but he expresses his energy in very wild and untamed way, not subtle or gentle but more "in your face". Both are part of The Fool. Aspects of The Fool. They provide balance and forward momentum not only in the Universe, but also in our lives.
I don't understand this paragraph I have copied and pasted from lesson one of the Hekate Tarot. Can anyone shed any light on it? I don't understand what the Jester stands for which may be what is causing my confusion and how they are polar opposites? I also don't understand what energies they represent? "The Fool holds crossed wands tipped with masks. The masks are of two images commonly associated with the Fool –the Jester and the Horned God of the forest. These represent both that the Fool is beyond the bounds of ordinary being, and also the Polar Opposites through which the Fool will express itself in incarnation: for while the Jester and the Horned God are the same energy they represent it in very different ways, the Jester more tame, the Horned God more wild. This pairing of complementary but opposing powers simultaneously propel the universe forward and keep it steady: Yin and Yang."
I saw the email and checked the store. I'm so glad the deck has been printed. I can't afford it right now, but I'll be able to purchase it for Samhain. :-D
The deck has been printed and is now for sale in the store.
I just signed up for the course. It sounds very interesting. On the question of being able to purchase a deck? Assuming a deck sold for around $20, how many committed buyers would be needed to enable a printing? Lady Sherry, I just ordered the Omnibus CD. The only place I could find it was at Mystickal Arts. It was no longer available, or I just couldn't find it, at the WitchSchool store.
That's a shame, but I understand. Hopefully, there will be a way to get them printed for a more reasonable price in the near future. :-)
I also asked about purchasing a Hekate Tarot deck. I was told to ask Lindsay Irvin on the Witch School site because that's where I took the course. She told me she'd check into whether or not it's for sale and where to order if it is. She hasn't gotten back to me yet, but I will post here with her answer when she does. Be patient. Everyone's busy and has projects going. :-)
