Basic Herbs 101

Herbs help us in many aspects of our lives. Some provide nutrition and taste and all of them have magickal properties. In this class we will learn about some basic herbs and their properties. At the end of this class you should have basic understanding of everyday herbs. We will get in-depth with each herb. Throughout history humans have used herbs in cooking, healing and magickal purposes. Herbs have been used in burials, ceremonies and for beauty aids. This class is a 10 week class with quizzes each week. You may work at your own pace. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CLASS PLEASE GET A HOLD OF ME AND SUPPLY ME WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USE AT WITCH SCHOOL.

I don't, but that's only because I haven't had success growing them yet. I find myself using mainly what I can produce myself, except for a few things (i.e., dragon's blood and the oils). I'm going to try growing mugwort this year. Collect what you use, the collection will be huge before long.

Wow! That's a lot.
Do you have herbs such as mugwort and mandrake?
Comment by Lillie Dawn on February 22, 2013 at 10:58pm

Maria, my collection consists of: mint, rosemary, sage, sweetgrass, cinnamon, basil, thyme, allspice, lavender, rose, lily and bay dried herbs & flowers. I also have: patchouli, lavender, orange, cedar and tea tree oils. I add to them regularly as I see the need for an addition. I have my plan for a bigger herb garden this spring and look forward to building a larger collection. :-)

If you had you your own herb shelf, what are some of the basic herbs you would keep as a witch and as a healer.
