Does anyone else here follow the Rokkr gods and goddesses?

Hello, I have been practicing Norse Paganism for 4 years. I am a devotee to Goddess Hela, Goddess of Death and Loki's daughter. I hope to learn and grow in this community.

I have read Havamal, and the Eddic and Poetic Sagas as well. That's when I realized that Runes reflected that history, which would make sense. By personafying their Dieties, it made them more accessable and the Runes were gentle reminders of that. The runes themselves became guideposts for growth as a person, hence the reason there are so many variations of Runes. As people grow, their objectives change and adapt. The Runes had to do that as well.

It was very funny....I was talking to a young man who wanted to make a "costume" of Thor and his armor. We got on the topic of honor and how they were all so honor bound that brother would not fight brother. I really laughed at him...I couldn't help it. So many topics of the old stories were just that, where a family member was not honorable and to do the honorable thing they had to fight. Goes to show you where people get their information. If they only go to movies, they get the director's version of it. :)

Eon, I love the old stories. I truly believe that we lost something when we became advanced. There is no courtesy or honor much any more, but that is what they lived by at that time. There simple life was lots of black and white where ours right now is a whole bunch of gray. They still teach if you want to learn. That is what I really love about the old stories.

Yeah, I once did a Norwegian "high school" paper on the runes, it was my finishing paper the 3.rd year in the Norwegian Language class. Unfortunatley, I haven't found that paper yet... I've been going through old boxes but haven't found the right one yet. It will be interesting to see what 18 year old me said on them...
