Fit Witches

This is a group for Pagans and Wiccans who are interested in physical and magickal fitness. We will explore the balance between physical and magickal energies, and present a supportive environment for those interested in fitness, both physical and magickal. The body is a temple, and fitness can be a spiritual path all its own. Come help us explore!

I am working on getting rid of my sugar diet. It has to be a slow process. I feel I have made this harder than it has been. I am severe muncher. I am a huge finger food person. It is a hard journey and I am going to put it in my BOS. Spring is coming to Wisconsin soon. I can take the dog for walks. Can't wait. BB Dawn

Since moving to Alaska my fitness has been touch and go. I got the crud that everyone seems to get when they move here and I think I'm finally over it. Since I no longer own a car I am doing a lot of walking and since I don't have a kitchen I bought a hot pot and generally keep some soup or veggies on simmer and graze during the day. I think ultimately this is going to be a great boon to my health.

My doctor told me I had to loose more weight. Due to the fibro it's never a bad idea. So I am off again. We are re-doing the basement so I found my treadmill and made my Gazelle quit squeaking. And we are off. lol I also now have my old rotory lawn mower. That is a workout in it's own. Its a great idea cause all it uses is my fat and calories. lol I highly recommend them. Talk about saving the planet. Lawn clipping re-used and using your own energy. Melting fat away. 101 lol

I try to go walking once or twice a week. I walk about a mile during my lunch break. Next year I plan to get back into running.

I am so grateful that Planet Fitness exists in my area. It is the ideal place for someone like me as the work I do forces me to be way more sedentary than I'm used to. That being said, I've found that if I hold onto how good I feel each time I exercise and make healthy food choices, the easier it is to repeat the good thing! Whether that will last long-term remains to be seen. :P I can say that I am finding it easier to concentrate when I wish to perform a ritual. I am gaining better control of my Will and it feels good.

I quite like a method I was taught a long time ago, I think it comes from Buddhist by don't quote me on that I'm not sure. That is to meditate on every meal, basically what you do is turn everything you eat into an experience, take time to lay your meal out nicely, use your sense; sight, smell, touch (textures) and of course taste. Eat your food slowly and with your full attention, observe what your senses are experiencing. This is great to help learn to focus but also for weight loss as it eliminates the eating on the run and eating slowly (chewing food thoroughly) helps your disgestive system to break it down, I've found I tend to eat less also as it gives your brain time to register when you have had enough.
