Recent news

I wanted to share with everyone here that I almost took the trip to Summerland at the beginning of the month, but a wonderful dr was able to save me by putting 2 stents into my heart, so now I have a year before I can have anything else done, and all I am allowed to do is rest. I was moved to an assisted living facility and was smart enogh to bring my wireless router so you will start seeing more of me again. Blessed Be to the Goddesses and Gods for granting me more time here! BB

Your Garden: Part 1

When starting your own Garden, and I capitalize because to me a garden is a gift from the Goddess, the first step is to figure out a spot to plant. To me, a spot has to be a place that feels right to not only you, but to whatever you're growing. I get my plants from stores, or others give me bulbs and I replant them. Whichever you decide, the next step is to pick a plant that you want. You can look up herbs and flowers in your books to choose what you want. I try to choose plants that I need…

Dat's one speecy-spicy sundae!

As regular followers of these reviews will no doubt recall, I've read a good chunk of Seth Godin's books over the past several years, but there are still quite a number that I haven't gotten to as yet. Typically, when I read something that would make me think I'd like to check out a book, and am…

Jesse

RIP Jesse. I'm so glad I got to meet you before this happened. You made my best friend Ty the happiest guy in the world. Why did you have to end that? If only I could've stopped you before you did that. You were and are a wonderful person. Will be thinking of you forever

Socially Awkward?

I know I'm socially awkward but when a simple MM, hello, or any input I put into a chat room it stops. Is it really just all me or do pagans/witches in general have some type of a clique complex? I've takes some classes in Sociology, I enjoy it though the workforce for them isn't so great. I understand it's human nature for people (in general) to not know how to respond or act upon people they rarely encounter or never met.

But really it's bad enough that we deal with this in the…

Me, I'm not a fanboy ...

This was one of those “business” books that I got from the good folks at McGraw Hill (I don't recall at this point if I asked for them to send me a review copy or if they queried me to see if I'd be interested in having a go at it), but it's obviously "in my wheelhouse". However, I again find…

"Don't be schtupid, be a schmarty ..."

Here's another book from the LibraryThing.com “Early Reviewer” program. I was pretty sure that when I put in my requests for the February batch, that I'd end up getting this, having read extensively in both things Occult and things Third Reich. I figured that Arthur J. Magida's…

Higher Self and Spirit Allies: The Ritual of the Genius/Juno

Higher Self and Spirit Allies: The Ritual of the Genius/Juno

"The Higher Self is the part of you that lies above your conscious mind. It has access to knowledge and abilities that your conscious self does not, and it is not troubled by the fears and anxieties of the material world. Higher Self is an aspect of your soul, which is immortal and experiences many lifetimes. Higher Self is not a separate part of yourself, but rather a different level. The Higher Self is the part of you that…

It's really what you pin ...

I believe that I reached out to the good folks at McGraw Hill to get a copy of this one … I'd recently reviewed a similar book on the Pinterest platform and figured, hey … the more the merrier. One of the challenges in putting out books about very new web entities is the speed at which they…

An Open Letter to the Tradition and Witchschool

This posting is to clearly reaffirm the close partnership between the Correllian Tradition and Witch School.

Recently, the Elders have seen some disparaging and inflammatory remarks about this situation from a Tradition member who has little knowledge of Witch School’s health.

These remarks are not a reflection of our Tradition and Witch School’s commitment to each other.

We want to make it crystal clear that the Correllian Tradition and Witch School have always and…

Healing with the mind ...

This is another book that came my way via the “Early Reviewer” program at LibraryThing.com … in this case from the December 2012 “batch”. As I've noted previously, this lends a certain serendipity to my reading, as I get books from there pretty close to monthly and they typically are…

A Brief History of the Sacred Circle in Two Forms

The Wheel of the Year, The Mayan Calendar, the May-pole dance, the Earth itself – all of these things represent a circle or sphere in sacred form.

All cultures have a form of sacred circle in their mystical, religious and metaphysical teachings. Native Americans have Sacred Circle Wisdom also known as The Great Hoop or The Web of Life. The Mayan calendar is the oldest known record of time and is…
