My Dream Poem

To fully understand anything you have to understand the context it's meant to be in. In my poem death means to end one cycle and start another. I was dreaming when i heard this in my head and this also has helped me get rid of this depression i have been carrying with me for a while.

It's time to die,

Where we lie.

Don't bother asking why.

You gotta try

To see the light.

You break my heart.

And I don't know why it's here tonight,

But I guess that's… Continue

Bashing Christians: Pagans favorite pastime.

Plain and simple, I'm going to line up a few claims, and do my best to knock them down. I may have to edit this from time to time, to add or take away as I must as my thoughts become more clear and focused. I wish I'd written this down the day it all seemingly "downloaded" into my brain, but I didn't. Here we go...

1. Everyone knows the Bible has stolen stories, nothing is original!

Very well. So... What you are telling me is that you, as a Pagan, or Pagans in general,… Continue

Autumn Equinox

I love fall and giving thanks (and Thanksgiving) a lot, almost as much as I love winter and Yule. I love the warm colors and the pumpkin, acorn and leaves decorations that I see everywhere.

Being on a budget, I hope that I can decorate this year as I was really limited last year, but I do have a bit more money (yay work).

This year, I've really got into looking things up. Why this year? I don't know. The first year I decided to follow a pagan path, I was living with my… Continue

A question?

Talen and I have noticed there has been a cat living under our house. A few days ago, while I was outside relaxing after a long day. The cat come out and walked to the driveway. She was meowing the whole time. I clicked my nails on the chair. As she started to slowly come near me, another cat walked by the house and she attacked the other cat. Then sat there meowing at me. So I clicked my nails against the chair again. She came right over to me and wanted to be petted. I petted her for a few… Continue

The Power of Peer-to-Peer Education…Mentors Build Communities

"We must not allow other people's limited perceptions to define us" - Virginia Satir

Recently at Witch School, I have been involved with the Mentoring system. The system is among the best in the world, and has been a core of our site since before there was a Witch School. This was created by many people starting with Green Owl and has continued through literally hundreds of people, each mentor adding to this community. To this I am eternally grateful, and appreciative of they’re… Continue

Herb Books

I have been reading alot of herb books lately but the one that I really like the most is called:The Herb Book it is writen by John Lust. It has been a very helpful book for me. It has alot of good information and recipes in it. I have even used my own recipes by using the knowledge and useful information in the book about the plants.

There are several others that I like but this is my favorite one.

Many thoughts about where I am today

Today I been having this very bad headache that I have been getting for many years since a accident that change my whole world upside down and all over. And today I did a lot of reflecting on how my life is now, and how my mentality has changed from bad to better.

Because I had some wonderful people that cared in the last 3 years. Among them was my Mentor for my first degree, Reanna, who listened to me while I was going through the pains of loosing… Continue

Bergie (a name given to people living on the streets in South Africa)

Dirty faces

Calloused feet

Sleeping spaces

The smell of defeat

Earth mother with ruined skin

Living in a state of grace

Gravelly voice, meths on her chin

Cheap white wine – her sacred space

Open palms after dark

The abused, the young and the leery

Reaching hands in a sun lit park

The used up users and… Continue

A LATE NIGHT WALK

Little eye's are watching,

Watching

Little eyes can see through you

Giant cars are driving,

Driving

On night-black scars

They carry you

Little stars are shining,

Shining

Blinking eyes

Where keys slip through

Cars and man are sleeping,

Sleeping

In quiet crypts they hide from you

And I am screaming, screaming,

Screaming

The silent scream you may… Continue

Modjadji

Rain Queen

A child of Africa prays…

Modjadji

I call you

Lay your grey cloud-kaross down

Let your water fall

Let my hurts

Drown

I weep, yet never die

Heavy hearted burn

Seen with sightless eyes

To be heard, I yearn

Modjadji

My heart drums for you

Slow… Continue

Spirit of handmade crafts and artisans.

Each time we create something with our hands and the sweat of our brow we place into these items a spirit that simply can not be mass produced or replicated. Each time we create something, I think, we put a little bit of ourselves into what we are creating.

I made a goal for myself this year to buy handmade as much as I can. In my search of things unique and special I have found a huge body of artists and artisans who are pagan and witches. After awhile you can spot these artists… Continue

The books

I've been practicing for over 42 years and wanted to say that I picked up one of your books, Witch School, loved it......so ordered them all. It is true.....no matter how much you think you know......you find you don't know. And just when you think you don't know......you know.

Always something new to learn........always.

I did it!

I passed Lesson 12 in 2nd Degree today, so I'm happy to share my good news with everyone!

I'm working on the comprehensive essay test now and should have my 2nd degree clergy in the near future. I'm very happy because there have been times when the road was bumpy and I was tired!!

Brightest Blessings,
Rev. Sande

trying to follow psycke

our experiences help us grow, but i'm ready to stop growing for a while. it would be nice for once in my life to not have to worry if something is getting paid or turner off, if the cats have food and litter, if my husband is looking for attention online, if my job is going to disappear. what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. is there something stronger than titanium?

Great book ...

This is another book that I got through LibraryThing's "Early Reviewer" program ... but it's the first time that I've gotten what is a classic "ARC" (advance review copy), which is for some reason amusing the heck out of me. Usually I've seen pretty much "bookstore ready" copies, but this is obviously an "in progress"… Continue

The world as I see it today and how we as Witches and Pagans can make it a better place to live in.

With the Mayan Calendar coming to an end that is upon us, the world as I see it as a Witch is in need of some real work, not only on the spiritual level, but, all levels. If we as the third largest religion in the United States and the fastest growing religion in the world, why aren't we stepping up, looking past the politics and the rhetoric of the world's leaders and become leaders ourselves? As Witches and Pagans, when we cast our circles we invoke the four elements that we hold so very… Continue
