Saving people...

I save people. I'm not the kind of person that you would normally think of. I'm not Fireman, not a paramedic, nor even a doctor. The kind of people I save are every day people but not the kind most people would think of... Most of the time they don't know that I have saved them and some of them wouldn't know the difference. I'm an advocate, I help people with disabilities every day. I'm in their corner when things aren't right and I make them right. I help people, I save them... All while… Continue

Leading my 1st public group ritual tomorrow night for Samhain!

Well, I'm getting ready to lead group ritual for the first time tomorrow night. I have Levy helping me so it shouldn't be *too* scary, lol. I have participated and had roles in group ritual many times in the past when I was a part of the ADF grove here in town. But I haven't been to a group rite since I left that ADF grove over 2 years ago! So needless to say, its about damn time! This will be the first… Continue

Don't understand all this blogging stuff, etc

Merry meet all. I'm really not good at this blogging thing, or as far as that goes, I don't understand what all I'm supposed to be doing on here or the front page of the School, if anything. Was doing good to figure out all the stuff on the schools front page. So if I don't communicate very well or what ever please excuse me.

New to wicca

Well, I thought I would try something new. I've done a lot of religion searching and tried out many of them. None seemed right. I had thought about wicca long ago but nothing came of it. My husband had done it for several years before we met and he liked it. I thought I would give it another try because it seems to fit what I'm looking for and I like what I read about it.

Very excited about the school coming to Salem!!

I am so happy that Witch School International is coming to Salem. I have been looking for a long time for a school to study at! When my daughter turns 13 I am going to sigh her up! My almost husband and almost mother in-law want to join too!! I thought long and hard and finally came up with my Wicca name.I will be known as Silver Moonbeam. I chose this as my Wicca name because Silver is one of my favorite colors and I love the way the moon shines when it is full. I am getting married on Samhain… Continue

Quite a good read ...

tdsumdtm1wsi.png This is another "dollar store find" that falls into the "how did that get there?" category ... it's scarcely three years old, and is quite an engaging read, yet it's already "remaindered". My best guess is that Timothy Dobbins'… Continue

Comming Up On Samhain Weekend in Salem!

I really had thought that doing a regular blog while here in Salem would be fairly easy -but my goodness have we been busy!

Yesterday I interviewed Mollie Stewart of the Spellbound Museum, which was a fascinating experience. Mollie Stewart is a well known ghost hunter who has conducted many paranormal investigations over the years, and the museum includes photos from some of these. There is also a room devoted to the Vodun religion with many authentic artifacts from New Orleans,… Continue

Well ...

sdlsjbfareethsoe1wsi.png height= As anyone who regularly follows this space will tell you, I don't have exactly "popular" reading habits, and somewhere around half the time over on LibraryThing, I'll be the only person reviewing a particular book, and one of only a handful having a… Continue

Well, as usual, a long time between posts. Had a very nce summer, despite the incredible amounts of rain. I got a lot of exercise and am definitely in better health becuse of it. I continued my volunteer work with kids and then started a paid job working with kids as a Human Services Counsellor, but that, alas, came to an end when I was laid off last week. So it's back to the job search for me. I have some leads on some interesting looking ones so not feeling too panicked… Continue

I've been thinking about Samhain being the beginning of the witches' year and thinking it would be a good idea to make some new year resolutions.

I've been unemployed for a while and it's seeming more and more like I'm stuck. I want to work but I put a lot of effort into getting a Masters and I want to use it, not apologise for it. My MSW makes me too qualified for entry level jobs and I don't have enough experience to get a job that requires an MSW. I've been thinking about going… Continue

Two Brooms were getting married..............

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, 'I think I am going to have a little… Continue

oct. 2009

once again hello to everyone!

as things appear to be getting better, it makes me uneasy wondering what might come next!!! I hate to think that way, but it just seems like when things start to run smoothly, something happens!

but, without a doubt, I am thankful. I have many blessings, and no room to complain.

I have gotten past the nightmare of meeting that one man, and am grateful that it went no farther then it did!

I am working… Continue

An Idea for Samhain 2010 and about my Poetry Podcast.

I was just at the 2009 Samhain in my area. Now I would like to do my second ritual (I've already done my very first ritual with my coven). I do have an idea of what I want to do, but I am having problems finding a script on the Internet that will help me more on this idea.

The idea that I want to do is to do the story of Isis and Osiris as a play form. Not too long. I was thinking that I might have the hall that my coven does the rituals in hyroglypics. I do have… Continue

Pentagrams and Golden Sections again ...

I know what regular readers of this space are going to say: “Brendan, why do you keep reading those books if you never really 'get' them?” Point taken. Of course, I'm a sucker for a “good deal” and I found Nicholas R. Mann's… Continue

of death and education

I've been studying on Asatru-u figuring I'd have to start somewhere and I've filled up half a note-book already. I'm working on finding my own copies of the Eddas, Beowulf, and at least some of the sagas off the net due to the fact I can't order online and the library would have to do an inter library loan and I don't thing they'll like me highlighting them. I'm probaly going to have to order from The BookNook.

I need to figure out the best translations for beginners like me so I'm… Continue
