Pagan News and Views Since 1998
Our Coloring Page today is a happy little Crone that I did for the Samhain season back in 1987. She does not come with a big write up, but she is a cheerful offering that I hope you enjoy…

WHAT IS CORRELLIANISM?
Correllianism is a belief system that is generally considered to be a form of Wicca, but is also sometimes regarded as a form of Spiritualism or of Pagan Universalism. Many Correllians consider Correllianism to be a thing unto itself, related to but not necessarily part of, many other movements.
Correllians seek to understand the Universe and humanity’s place in it. The nature of Deity (God), the Soul, and Karma, are very important in Correllian thought.…

1) Ditch the “mystery religion” mentality that has pervaded these movements over the last centuries. If we tout ourselves as those who love all things in nature, what right do we have to deny others the same right and access to the same resources and contacts that we ourselves rely on?
2) Share knowledge, do not hoard it.
3) Do not refuse membership based on something only skin deep. Consider each applicant to your coven/temple seriously.
4) If you must turn…

Here is another Coloring Page from Rev. Don's Pagan and Magickal Clip Art. This piece was done in 1995. It shows the ancient Egyptian Deities Ra, Isis (Aset or Iset), and Thoth (Thehut, Djehuti). Ra was the Sun God and was long the chief God of the nation, Isis was a Goddess of life and magic and many other things, and Thoth was the God of Wisdom. These three were connected in various ways, not least in that part of Isis' magical power came from knowing the secret name of Ra, and Thoth had…

I did not attempt to put out any Coloring Pages while at the Parliament, because it was just too much to manage. But I am happy to resume our daily Coloring Page today. This Coloring Page is a composite of several older pieces from Rev Don's Pagan and Magickal Clip Art. The three little Witches were done for various purposes between 1991 and 1994. I have combined them into a single picture here. As Samhain draws near, the image of the Halloween Witch looms large. To me she is the Goddess of…

Greetings all!
I have just returned from the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Salt Lake City, Utah, and what a wonderful event it was! Not only did I attend, but a number of Witch School Alumni and I had the great privilege of addressing the Parliament. The Parliament of the World’s Religions is the world’s premiere religious interfaith event. The Parliament is a global organization and is associated with the UN, playing an unofficial but very real role in policy shaping for…

I am finally home from the Parliament of the World’s Religions and wanted to take this opportunity to say ‘Thank you’ to everyone who made this event so wonderful!
I especially want to thank the thirteen Correllians who made the trip to Parliament with me: Rev. Susan Caldwell (Florida), Rev. Laurie Denman (Florida), Rev. Ser Jeanine De Oya (North Carolina), Rt. Rev. Eblis (Mexico City, Mexico), Rev. Elizabeth Hamilton (Pennsylvania), Rt. Rev. Ed Hubbard (Illinois), Rev. Alyssa Maxon…

The Truth Behind the Halloween Witch
We’ve all seen the pictures of the dreaded Halloween Witch. Bloodshot eyes peering from under matted hair, green-skinned and the toothless grin. She beckons with long, gnarled fingers as her crooked body weaves its spell.
That was what Hollywood told us a witch looked like. But they may have been correct. They may have been right on the money. Not for the reasons most believe, that the witch is evil and this is a curse for her wickedness. Not…

Our Coloring Page today shows Sisygambis, mother of Darius III of Persia. Darius III was the last King of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia, who lost his empire to Alexander the Great. Sisygambis is often described as the Dowager Queen of Persia, though in fact she was not. Sisygambis was the daughter of King Artaxerxes II Memnon, who had ruled from 404 – 358 BC. Her mother was Queen Stateira. King Artaxerxes III was her brother. Sisygambis married her first cousin Arsames, son of her father’s…

Our Coloring Page today shows the ancient Greek poet, Sappho. Sappho was far and away the most famous female poet of antiquity, and among the most famous of all poets of the era. No less a figure than Plato described her as “The Tenth Muse”, an allusion to the Goddesses Who inspired poetry and other arts. Sadly, only a tiny portion of her poetry survives today. Sappho was a noblewoman from the island of Lesbos, in the northeast Aegean near what is now Turkey. Sappho was born around 620 BC,…

Our Coloring Page today is from 1994, and can be found in Rev. Don's Pagan and Magickal Clip Art. The picture shows a happy Pagan family standing in circle. The smallest child looks outward, inviting the viewer to join. I do not recall the exact provenance of this picture after 21 years, but I think that it was actually done to be a coloring page, as we were producing coloring page sets at that time. 1994 was the year after the Centenary Parliament of the World's Religions, and their were…

In the First Degree Lessons of the Correllian Tradition, I remember no single discourse on the elements of magic better than the spell for Lesson VIII entitled The Shadow Knows. (Lewis-Highcorrell, 2010) This interesting discussion is on a part of a person’s psyche, the underlying part of themselves that holds all of their doubts and fears, things ingrained on them by those outside of themselves as well as by themselves. This part of human nature, which is by no means a bad thing in my…

Our Coloring Page today s another older piece from Rev. Don’s Pagan and Magical Clip Art. This piece is from 1988 and was done for the Wheel of Hekate magazine. The picture shows the Sun and Her daughter. In Cherokee mythology, which had many variations according to region and according to clan, one story tells how Grandmother Sun would visit Her daughter each day. Because her daughter lived at the center of the sky, Grandmother Sun would travel to the center of the sky to visit her…

Our Coloring Page today features MerNeith, the earliest known woman to rule a nation. This does not mean that MerNeith was the first woman leader in the world –no doubt there had been thousands- but she is the first we know of. For that matter, Egypt is the first state that can be spoken of as a nation in the modern sense, other kingdoms of the time being much smaller city-states. MerNeith lived around 3000 BC give or take a few years. There is no way to know exact years for her birth,…

Correllian Soul Retrieval
by Rev. Don Lewis
Soul Retrieval is an important technique of deep healing.
The idea behind Soul Retrieval is that parts of our soul become caught or "lost" because of strong emotions or traumatic experiences, and must be "retrieved" in order for us to be whole again.
A better way to explain this is that when we go through a traumatic experience a part of our consciousness becomes fixated upon it and cannot move forward until it is dealt with…
