How is Animal Abuse Related to Domestic Violence?
In recent years, a strong connection has been documented linking animal abuse and domestic violence. A New Jersey study found that in 88 percent of families where there had been physical abuse of children, there were also records of animal abuse. In Wisconsin, battered women revealed that in four out of five cases, abusive partners had also been violent toward pets or livestock. The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence… Continue

Haven't been around much due to being so busy, living at my parents' and trying to buy a house. I started doing daily cards. I was sure that yesterday's spread was a reflection of my horrible day on Monday with the Devil standing out there. By the end of the day, I realized my dealings with greedy lying people was far from over. Today's draw includes the Tower (reversed). I am confident that so long as my husband and I keep our heads through this awful situation, we will be all right. Despite… Continue

To follow a conversation that happened earlier today. Quite by "accident" I logged onto Dr. Bryant's tenth dimension site again, and on it was an interesting take on the I Ching, as described by a mathematician. It's worth a look, in my opinion... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbplSTSK3mY

One of my resolutions for the New Year is to do more blogging. In particular I am going to be doing a daily reading via blog. Beginning January 1, I will be drawing and interpreting three cards each day to divine the general energy of that day. This is part of a wider emphasis I am planning to put on the psychic arts in the New Year.
I think that this will be very exciting, although it is difficult too. I have never been a person who journaled –spilling… Continue

As I first stepped off Greyhound January 4th, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, I breathed in a fresh breath of very cold air. Colder then the air I am used to breathing from my hometown of Fresno, California. Needless to say, I became sick and developed bronchitis. First time ever.
Now I believe the time has come again. lol. It's been rather chilly here the last couple of days. We had snow one day and a light breeze the rest of the days. That breeze is what kills me every time. No… Continue

In addition to my customer service job here at WitchSchool, I am also working on a new Online Store. I love to make craft items, working with crystals, beads, and other pretty things. I find it helps me to relax and I also use the time to think about things in general. In the past, I liked to give these as gifts and people always seem to enjoy them. And because my job here on the WS site is mostly volunteer, I needed to find something to do that would help to increase my income. There aren't a… Continue

As I go further into my teachings here at Witch School I grow deeper in love with the Wiccan ways. It is far richer than I first knew. Maybe it is the Correllian tradition that made this transition. I've never had Wicca expressed in such a way that made me feel so connected with life before. The fact that I'm actually practicing it instead of just reading about it could be part of it too.

I live in a very small town in the Heart of Texas. When I say "heart" I mean there are more Churches in this town than there are eating establishments.
Up until a few months ago, my husband was a local cop here and because of his position, I pretty much stayed in the broom closet and was very careful and selective about who knew or suspected my faith. This was not an easy feat since my hubby kept telling me he didn't care what people thought...I should be who I am and he didn't care… Continue

Allow me to define what a witch is.... Witch: A man or woman of no particular faith who respects nature and all it entails. They are capable of harnessing and manipulating the energy about them for a positive use. Witches can be anyone and do not fit the general sterotype of the word. Many have diverse skills in a multitude of feilds including (but not limited to)Tarot Card reading, Reiki, Animal Magick, or magickal skills that are all used for self-discovery, empowerment and… Continue

I do spells, celebrate the turning of the Wheel mainly with two other wonderful witchy women. We typically subscribe to an ecclectic faire, but we kind of do lean Celtic/Druid like in our practice.
This Yule - one Witchy didn't get to the house until 9pm and had just worked a full day. So our ritual was extremely stripped down and focused mainly on comforts and recognizing the return of the glorious Sun.
After a meal of hot chili and hot wassail we got a nice fire going in… Continue

This call goes out to every being, everywhere! No matter what your faith, creed, nationality, age, color, sex, sexual preference, alien (legal or not), no matter what your fears, phobias or prejudices are, listen up. It's time to put aside all of the petty differences that have been keeping us apart, creating duality, skirmishes, wars and is destroying this great planet that we call home, Gaia! No matter what God, Goddess, Higher Power or entity you call upon and worship, it does not make a… Continue

Its 3:44 am and the wind howls just outside my window. The home is empty, darkness broken by an occasional intermittant strobe of lightning. I am drawn out of my bed. As early as it is, now just does not seem the time to be caught unaware. This easily could be a tornadic storm raging just outside. I can hear the lapping wind and rain against the lone piece of glass. Time to arise and make sense of my surroundings.
I am normally a heavy sleeper and so any periods that I awake like… Continue

Hello. I wanted to start my blog here off with an introductory post. My name is Scott Harper. I’m 34-years-old and and have been Wiccan for a bit over a decade. I’m also an author/screenwriter and have 20 short stories and five novels published. I’m currently working on my sixth novel, among other things, literature-wise. Screenplay-wise, I’m waiting to hear back from a movie producer on the third draft of what hope ( fingers crossed, please! ) will be a SyFy Channel Original movie. I’m also… Continue

Today I went out on my nature meditation. In all honesty I have been avoiding this like the plague. In alpine it is so cold and snowy during the winter and i really don't feel like being out in it at all. Add that i have to bring my daughter out with me and well.... it is intimidating.
As i bundled us both up in our winter gear and got ready i tried to fill my mind with positive thoughts. Even so and overwhelming feeling of grumpiness started to set in. But I went out anyways and i… Continue

This year things are a bit different than it has been ever for me. I am not celebrating with my Family or with my parents. My Mother died last year and it was the first year that I did not have all those wonderful things my Mother used to do for not only for my Yule but also for Christmas. I am missing the things that brought joy to my heart with My Father and I and also my sister now that Mom isn't here we are not as close or even talking as much as when she was alive.
I remember when we… Continue
