I believe I have talked before on the old site about my pipes. It was last summer that I got a call from a band mate telling me of a piper that wanted to pass on there pipes. Now I don't know how many of you are musicians but to many of us our instrument take on a spirit of there own, and extension of ourselves. To pass on your instrument is to pass on a bit of your self. You live on when your instrument is played buy another when you can play no more. This was what was happening for me and… Continue

The Circle is, above all things, a place where all the puzzle pieces fit together to make a whole- and where the perfect picture is fully realized as truly being a masterpiece of artful and separate parts. Within the Circle alone, I am known, accepted, and cherished as being a human of complete love and earth-shattering potential- and I feel as I do when I am with my most cherished friend and soul-sister. As a group, our differences make us more alike to each other than our similarities, and… Continue

Now that I’ve created a new profile on another networking site, what will I do with this? The most obvious thing is to journal my spiritual thoughts here. The other, equally obvious thing is to participate in this community. It was a goal last year, continuing this year to become more active in the pagan community. I’ve done a lot in 2008 and look forward to 2009.
The beginning of the year as been a little bit hectic for me. There was a major restructure at work, which has been a… Continue

I just got moved over from the old site, I'm looking forward to hanging out here at the new place. Even at the old place I had become very inactive. I hope to change that here. The reason among others was that My granddaughter was born on October the 6th, 14 weeks premature. She weighed 1lb 14oz. She is doing well now, weighing in at over 12lb. and this evening Grandpa will get to do some baby sitting.
Tomorrow the local Scottish society is holding gathering in the local mull. It's… Continue

You are on a forest path surrounded by majestic oak trees and regal yellow woods. The fallen leaves under foot are dappled with sunlight filtering through the canopy overhead. It is a path you traveled many times. In your right hand is an age worn walking stave and on your back is your trusty hiking pack.
As you are walking you notice for the first time a narrow overgrown path leading to your left.… Continue

So last night was hanging out with one of my buddies from High School. We haven't really seen much of each other since I graduated (I'm a few years her senior) so it was nice to meet up and just chat!
Well we were talking about EVERYTHING from boys, to movies, to books, to the government and public displays of weirdness lol.
So eventually, the subject of religion came up. And I've known that she's a really devout Mormon, so I was actually really hesitant to discuss… Continue

Does anyone listen to any pagan podcasts or pagan based internet radio? This is a great medium for pagans to get their thoughts and ideas out there!

Moving Witchschool to a Ning was kind a surprising bit of news to receive, but, I can see the pros of it as well. Now I just hope that my dial-up is going to work me on this! lol I'm excited, but also wondering what's going to happen next with the new direction that Witchschool's been taking. :)

Hey all! Me again!
So I've been thinking that I would like to get myself a copy of some of the books Witch School has put out. Like for my lessons and stuff. Normally, I just read the info off the page and sometimes I'll even print it out for my personal references. But when I'm reading the lesson on the net, with my attention span the info goes in, and then blows right back out (It's that whole 'blonde windtunnel between the ears thing lol) and when it comes to printing... I go… Continue

Hey all! It's me again!
So, I just signed up on this site since Blog of Shadows is closing down *tear* and I am LOVING it! It's so fancy! Now all I have to do is get all my friends from BOS to be my friends on this site and I'll be set- I love all of my friends!
So I'm gonna keep up with my blogging here on this site as well. I think I may actually take a few of my blogs from BOS and re-post them here; just to see where I've been and how I've progressed, which I think is… Continue

Witch School got another article for Chicago Witch School project in the Chicago Tribune Redeye, and it is available as a download: http://redeye.chicagotribune.com/media/acrobat/2009-04/45915680.pdf
So Maryann found this, and it is on Page 7.

I've been a WSI student for a couple of years but haven't finished the First Degree course, yet. I keep stalling when I try and get past lesson 4.... This new Ning network came at a great time for me. I've been unemployed and a bit depressed for a while but recently have been feeling better and more positive about life. I'm breaking out my text book again and looking forward to working on my next lesson.

When we speak of the Pagan community you get a lot of different voices and definitions of what the community really is or what it should be. With only minimum economic infrastructure and limited central concentrations of members it does not look like a culturally independent community. Instead the community appears more as a political party where each voice must be seated at the table and given due respect. From Solitaires to Tradition Leaders, from Coven Priestess or Priest to Witch Royalty,… Continue

Do you understand
That i will not be confined
I will not be restricted
By your expectations and your conventions.
I will not chain my soul and conform
To fit your rigid ideals
I will not say what you want me to say
I will be free and embrace my destiny
I will not be what you want me to be
I’m out there where angels fear to tread
It’s the only way i know
I will taste… Continue

I was born in Jacksonville, Florida in the mid 1970s, a place where a large Baptist mega-church plays a dominant role in local politics, and where, just twenty years earlier, a strong vein of anti-Semitism was evidenced in signs in storefronts that said things like “No Dogs or Jews Allowed”. Not that I was Jewish, no, my family were predominantly Baptist, with a small number of exceptions – an atheist grandfather, two Catholic great-grandparents, and a handful of Methodists, and then in the… Continue

Energy work is not my strong point. In fact, I tend to look at the excercises at the end of each lesson of the First Degree program with a small amount of trepidation.
Even though I've been involved in Wicca as a solitary for years, I've never really learned to meditate or direct energy. Taking the First Degree course is the first time I've been really challenged to learn to do this. I didn't have much luck. So I decided the smart thing for me to do was to go back a step or two and… Continue

While other people are enjoying spring, here in Minnesota we still have days like today when the rain can't decide if it wants to be in its liquid or semi-solid state. There's just something about seeing snowflakes outside my window (when it's almost April!) that makes me want to curl up with a good book.
Several months ago, I checked out a book from the library that really blew the top off my witchy-head. It's a book by Patricia Monghan called… Continue
